Course description

No longer dowdy, crochet has become truly stylish. Learn the basic stitches, to select yarn, and to read and source patterns. Complete a project – scarf, beanie or small rug. Delight in how quick and how beautiful crochet can be!
The basics of crochet are easy to learn and these simple skills can easily be transformed into beautiful and stylish garments, soft furnishings – and even art!
A beginner course with an emphasis on learning a new skill and having fun. Students will be able to choose from a range of projects.

What your course will cover

  • Basic stitches and techniques.
  • Tension, ply , hook selection and how to read patterns.
  • Basic motifs and squares.
  • Where to source patterns and materials.
  • Finishing projects.

What to bring

  • 4mm crochet hook – first lesson.

Your course levy includes

  • Yarn for the first session.
  • Instructions and project sheets.

Important information

  • Students are advised not to buy yarn for their projects until after the first class.
  • Your tutor will suggest suitable yarns and where to buy them.

Please note that children must not attend this class unless it is a specified parent/child activity.

Please choose your course carefully. A full refund is payable in the event that a class is cancelled. No other refunds are considered except for extenuating circumstances which are supported by a written application.
